Association of Colleges
Association of Colleges
Association of Colleges is the national voice for further education, sixth form, tertiary and specialist colleges in England. We are a not-for-profit membership organisation established in 1996 by colleges, for colleges. Our members make up almost 95% of the sector - transforming 2.2 million lives each year. Colleges are vital to the country's economic recovery and the government's levelling up agenda; they are rooted in their communities and will be central in supporting people and places to recover as well as addressing the longstanding issues of meeting the country's skills needs, demographic change and addressing sustainability and climate change. People should have access to training and reskilling throughout their lives - the shifting of the economy, post pandemic, highlights why it is so important for people to be able to access training to move into new jobs and new sectors. We want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to access the skills they need, with adequate funding and the flexibility to study the right subject at the right level. We will continue to work with government to help deliver the skills and lifelong education needed to build a stronger economy, redress longstanding regional inequalities and make the transition to a net zero carbon economy.
