Dr Marius S. Ostrowski is Executive Director of the Lifelong Education Institute, the UK's leading organisation promoting learning and skills training for people at all ages and stages of their lives and careers. He is a political scientist, historian, and policy thought-leader, who has held fellowships at the University of Oxford, University of Nottingham, and the European University Institute in Florence, and worked as a policy researcher in the UK Parliament.

His interests cover devolution and levelling up, skills and industrial strategy, integrating academic and vocational learning, UK–EU relations, and the theory and history of social democracy. He is the author of books including Ideology (2022) and Left Unity: Manifesto for a Progressive Alliance (2020), and he has published journal articles, press contributions, reports, and book chapters on topics such as school behaviour standards, skills in the agri-food sector, fiscal policy in an independent Scotland, global democratic resilience, and a European Universal Basic Income.
